The weekend is just around the corner, and the forecast promises clear skies and a pleasant 13°C on Saturday – perfect for a bike ride! Sunday will be a bit cooler at 11°C and overcast, but that won’t stop us cyclists, of course.
Planned rides & events
For anyone who prefers to cycle in company, there are once again a number of organised tours and events:
- Today, Friday, the JSV Rettenbach (Mariatrost) cycling training session starts at 15:00, and Critical Mass Graz meets at 17:00.
- On Saturday, the Lemur Bike Team’s Easter break begins, and at 10:00 the AK Feldbach bike swap takes place. Anyone wanting to enjoy spring on two wheels can join the 2026 Wild Garlic Ride at 10:15, which covers 72.81 km and 94 metres of elevation gain.
- Sunday offers several options: things kick off as early as 09:00 with Burgenland Ballern. For coffee lovers, there are three different rides: the challenging Motivated Coffee Ride ☕🚲💪 (102.56 km, 1331 m elevation gain) at 10:00, the Moderate Coffee Ride 😎 ☕ 🚲 (76.6 km, 1044 m elevation gain) at 10:15 and the relaxed Easy Coffee Ride 🤗 ☕ 🚲 (48.72 km, 675 m elevation gain) at 10:30.
Route suggestions for the weekend
If you prefer to set off on your own, we have three route suggestions for you here, suitable for every fitness level:
- Easy (under 40 km): For a leisurely ride, we recommend the route from Graz to Fernitz. These 37.5 km and 274 m elevation gain offer a lovely start to the weekend.
- Medium (40–80 km): If you’re looking for a moderate challenge and want to join a group, why not take part in the Wild Garlic Ride 2026 on Saturday? At 72.81 km and 94 m elevation gain, it’s a great option.
- Challenging (over 80 km): For the fittest among you, the Motivated Coffee Ride ☕🚲💪on Sunday is an excellent choice. A 102.56 km route with 1,331 metres of elevation gain awaits you.
