So, who has already checked the weather? The weekend looks really good! After a cloudy Friday with a pleasant 18°C, we can look forward to a wonderful Saturday: Up to 23°C and bright blue skies are forecasted. On Sunday, it will remain perfect for everyone wanting to take another ride with 21°C and clear skies. So, don't forget the sunscreen and get on your bike!
Events: Where the Tires Heat Up and the Coffee Awaits
This weekend, there is a lot happening in and around Graz, making the decision difficult. But don't worry, we’ll help you keep track:
- On Friday, you can warm up at the Bike Event Mariatrost Training/Guidings starting at 3:00 PM. Perfect for learning a few tricks before a tram at the main square shows you who has the right of way.
- Saturday is all about Stattegg! The big GRAZER BIKE-FESTIVAL is taking place there. As part of this, there will be the Pumpiläum in Stattegg with a youth final and ÖM ranking, the Austrian Youngsters Cup (XCC + Pumptrack), and the XCC Graz/Stattegg. For those who prefer to get hands-on, there’s the Basic Bicycle Maintenance Workshop starting at 12:30 PM – where you can learn how to help yourself when a broken spoke happens in the middle of nowhere.
- Sunday starts more leisurely, but no less exciting: At the 1st Graz BiciBus Exchange Meeting, you can network with like-minded people. And for all the coffee lovers among you, there are three Coffee Rides at 10:00 AM, at different difficulty levels, from moderate to motivated. There’s something for everyone, whether you want to cover 50 or nearly 100 kilometers.
Route Suggestions: Something for Every Taste
Do you want to pedal yourself, away from the event hustle? No problem! We have a few suggestions for you, from leisurely to sporty:
- Easy (under 40 km): How about our [GGG] Frühblüherausfahrt 2026? With just under 35 kilometers and a few elevation meters, it’s perfect for loosening up your legs and enjoying the autumn nature. There’s even time for an ice cream at the main square before you dive back into the city hustle.
- Medium (40-80 km): If you prefer a more extensive ride, the Moderate coffee ride on Sunday at 10:00 AM is just right for you. Almost 75 kilometers and nearly 1000 elevation meters await you. A great opportunity to explore the surroundings of Graz and then leisurely sip a coffee.
- Hard (over 80 km): For the truly motivated, there’s also the Motivated coffee ride on Sunday at 10:00 AM. With nearly 100 kilometers and over 1300 elevation meters, it’s quite a challenge. But hey, the headwind apparently belongs to the bike path network in Graz, so a few elevation meters shouldn’t be a problem anymore, right?
