Why every cyclist should greet: Cheers to politeness on two wheels!

Share:

Imagine you're cycling on your favorite bike path, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and...

You're completely ignored by another cyclist. How rude!

Here are a few humorous reasons why greeting other cyclists is the new must-do:

1. Karma on wheels:
You never know when you might see that other cyclist again. Maybe you'll need a pump or a drink of water next time. A friendly "Hello" could be the start of a wonderful friendship.

2. The secret language of bells:
Your bike bell isn't just for scaring pedestrians. A quick ring can also be a friendly "Good afternoon!" But don't overdo it, or it could be misinterpreted as "Make way, I'm coming through!"

3. Smiling burns calories:
Yes, this isn't scientifically proven, but imagine if it were. Every time you smile and say hello, you could burn a few extra calories. That's a nice bonus, right?

4. The bike path isn't a catwalk:
You don't have to smile like a supermodel, but a little nod or a raise of the hand shows that you're not too cool to say hello. Besides, who wants to be known as the grumpy cyclist?

5. Safety first:
A greeting can also be a sign of attention. It shows that you've noticed other road users and are thus actively contributing to safety on the bike path.

So, dear cyclists, let's all be a little friendlier and say hello to our fellow cyclists. It costs nothing and makes the world a little bit better. And who knows, maybe your greeting will be rewarded with a friendly smile or even a new friendship!
