Imagine you're standing at Hauptplatz, the sun is shining on the Uhrturm, and you're wondering how best to get to your next appointment or simply take a trip into nature. For many of us, the bicycle is the first choice – obviously! But sometimes you just need a little more, right? That's exactly where “tim” comes in, our multimodal mobility service in Graz.
And now hold on to your handlebars: tim is celebrating its 10th anniversary! Ten years already since tim started supporting us in Graz with e-cars, rental bikes, and charging stations. A whole decade in which Graz's mobility has undergone quite a transformation. Whether you need to quickly get to the Koralmbahn construction site, where the Murradweg no longer continues, or you need an e-car for a weekend trip to Southern Styria – tim has often been a great complement to your own trusty steed.
For the anniversary, there's not just cake (hopefully!), but also tangible news. The 36th location has launched, which means the network is becoming even denser. Whether you're on the university campus or in the Gries district, chances are good there's a tim location near you. More choice, more flexibility – that's great if you spontaneously need a vehicle that isn't your own bike.
But as is often the case in life, there are also some things that might not entirely thrill us: New features are being introduced, and yes, that includes price increases. That's certainly a pity if you've gotten used to the old prices. It's always a balancing act between service offerings and costs. We'll see how this affects usage. The important thing is that as cyclists, we continue to find our ways and can use tim as one of many options when it makes sense.
For us BikeGraz fans, the bicycle naturally remains number one. But it's good to know that in Graz, this beautiful city between Schlossberg and Mur, there are so many ways to be mobile. tim is one of them, and ten years is quite a milestone. We'll keep an eye on things and see how the new changes prove themselves in everyday life.
