Sturm&Kästn-Tour: End of Season of Radlobby ARGUS Steiermark
So, who among you already officially ended the cycling season for 2026 on October 11? Radlobby ARGUS Steiermark did that in the traditional way with their Sturm&Kästn-Tour up to the Hochgrail near Stainz — and that, even though autumn in Graz often still has a few sunny cycling days in store.
Seven cyclists ventured out of the Mur fog to pedal westward. As always, the route mostly followed the R9 Erzherzog-Johann-Radweg, which is almost a home game if you come from Graz. After an obligatory coffee in Premstätten and the photo stop in Dobl in front of the former Buschenschenke Florian — a classic you simply have to include — the sun peeked through the clouds. Typical Steiermark: first fog, then glorious weather; that’s why you cycle here!
Through the fields and over the hills, partly with electric assistance, the group continued leisurely via Wetzelsdorf and Mettersdorf. The destination was Buschenschank Klug-Voltl, where after such a tour the Sturm and the Kästen surely tasted twice as good. A perfect finish to the cycling season before you put the bike in the cellar — or get it ready for winter rides, depending on how hard-core you are!
