Styria is cycling ahead: Graz at the heart of the ‘Radland’ initiative!
Hello cycling fans!
As you know, we love whizzing through our beautiful city and the region on two wheels. And now there’s fantastic news straight from Graz that’s making our cycling hearts beat faster: Styrian tourism has unveiled its new summer campaign here, and the goal is ambitious: Styria is set to become Austria’s ‘number one cycling destination’! Doesn’t that sound fantastic?
Just imagine: a whopping 2.4 million euros is being invested to bring our cycling infrastructure up to scratch. In concrete terms, this means:
- New routes: More opportunities to explore Styria, perhaps including new connections from Graz into the surrounding countryside, towards Plabutsch or further into the countryside.
- Better signage: Never get lost again! Clear, consistent signage makes cycling even more relaxed, whether you’re cruising along the Murradweg or discovering new trails.
The fact that these plans were presented here in Graz of all places is a cool sign, isn’t it? It shows that our city is a key hub for the future of cycling in Styria. We’ll benefit directly from better infrastructure, which not only helps us in our daily lives but also opens up new horizons for longer weekend rides. Just think of the many opportunities that will open up if Styria really does become the number one cycling region – our Graz countryside will become even more attractive for everyone who loves to get out on their bike.
I’m excited to see what specific projects we’ll see in our area over the coming months. More and better-developed paths mean greater safety and more fun for us all. So, grab your bike and get ready – the future of cycling in Styria, with Graz as a strong anchor, looks bright!
