Well, who would have thought that in Stattegg not only is the air fresher, but the bikers are really full throttle too? At the third Pumpiläum of the Bikeclub GIANT Stattegg it was going off, and I mean really! A total of 125 young bikers showed what they can do, igniting not just their tires but also the hearts of the spectators. You can be forgiven for feeling jealous if you’re still battling the wind on the Murradweg while the youngsters are already racing for Austrian championship titles.
And speaking of titles: the people from Stattegg took three of them home – respect! Now that’s a statement, right? After so much action on the bikes it was clear that a good celebration was in order. And where better than at a proper village square party? They surely discussed more than just the fastest lap times, and enjoyed the odd Radler – of course only the adults, naturally.
An event like this reminds us once again that the cycling youth in our region are well positioned. Who knows, maybe we’ll see one or two of these talents soon with the big names. Until then: keep at it and keep pedaling, whether on the pump track or on the way to the baker. Maybe this is the push to pull your bike out of the cellar again and see if you can still keep up – at least on the way to Lendplatz.
