Bike Rental in Graz: Where Can You Still Find Bikes?

It's a bit of a shame that there are so few bike rental options in Graz, isn't it? As enthusiastic cyclists, we know how great it is to explore the city on two wheels – whether it's for ourselves when we want to try out a different model, or for friends and family visiting us.

Banana Bikes has just launched its offer and provides us with four bikes. They're already waiting for you at the shop on Neutorgasse 23, soon to be booked at bananabikes.at. Every new option is a win for our cycling community!

At Bicycle.at, there is also information about rentals, which you can find directly on their website: bicycle.at/verleih/. A great place to check out if you're looking around.

And then there's an exciting initiative for anyone who wants to try out a cargo bike: Radverteiler.at.

There, you can borrow cargo bikes for free at various locations in Graz – ideal for big shopping trips, transporting crates of drinks, visiting the weekly market, or just to test how relaxed it is to get around the city with a cargo bike. Behind the project is a sustainable initiative that wants to show that many everyday trips can be done without a car.

The cool thing about it: The bikes are distributed among different partners in Graz and can be reserved online. Some of the cargo bikes even have names – a bit like a pet, but with significantly more storage space.

And honestly:
Once you've rolled past a standing line of cars with a fully loaded cargo bike, you quickly understand why these things are becoming increasingly popular.

Well, that's almost it for the known providers. A bit sparse when you consider how many of us would like to try out a different bike or show visitors the beautiful Mur city on two wheels.

So my question to you, dear community: Who else besides Banana Bikes and Bicycle.at comes to mind? Do you know of any small, fine initiatives that rent out bikes? Or is there a secret tip we should all know about?

And yes, before the question comes up: I did think of Gigasport. However, the last post on Instagram was made what feels like 147 weeks ago, and I couldn't spontaneously find anything about bike rental on their website. If anything changes: feel free to correct me!

Share your tips and experiences with us! Let's spice up the bike rental scene in Graz together! We look forward to your comments here on the blog or on Instagram and Bluesky under #bikegraz.
