Bike Offensive Graz 2030: Your Path to a Cycling City!

Share:

The Radoffensive Graz 2030 is more than just a plan – it is our shared mission to make Graz an even more bike-friendly city! With this overarching cycling traffic plan, we are setting new standards and guidelines so that by the year 2030, numerous new kilometers of bike paths will be created.

Even now, Graz is a true cyclist city, and the numbers speak for themselves: The share of cyclists among Graz residents currently stands at a proud 20%. In the city center, it is even 25%, and even in the Graz surrounding area, 17% ride their bikes. Just imagine how much more that could increase!

Why Cycling in Graz is So Awesome

The Radoffensive has clear goals that will excite us all:

  • Cycling becomes an adventure: You can rediscover the city – all without the annoying search for parking. No more parking searches, that's music to the ears, right?
  • Cycling becomes safe: With separate bike paths and traffic calming measures, safety for all road users increases. That makes cycling even more fun!
  • Cycling becomes attractive: Your bike is already the fastest means of transport in the city. Direct connections are intended to further enhance the quality. Fast connections that get you to your destination even quicker!

Current Projects and Important Facts

Things are already happening! In the south of Graz, a new pedestrian and cycling bridge is being built by the state of Styria, connecting Murfeld and Feldkirchen. A great initiative that opens up new paths for us!

The Radoffensive is a major undertaking, and here are some of the most important data and facts that the source reveals:

  • A funding of 1 million is planned.
  • A target of 1% cyclists by 2030 has been set – a special detail that encourages us all to think about how we can achieve this goal together.
  • The implementation is scheduled for 1 year, which shows how dynamically the expansion of the cycling infrastructure network is being advanced.

On the timeline of the Radoffensive Graz 2030, exciting projects are set to be implemented gradually. These include:

  • Cycling playgrounds
  • The GRW Murfeld Weinzöttl
  • The cycling street Sturzgasse

Fit for Cycling Together!

The city of Graz is getting us fit for cycling! There are mobility training sessions and consultations for different target groups, so you can be safe and confident on the road. Additionally, numerous funding opportunities related to cycling await you. And of course, we must not forget the joint City Cycling Graz – a great opportunity to ride through our beautiful city with like-minded people!
