Creating a Sightseeing Tour Is No Easy Ride
It might seem simple: pick some sights, draw a route, done. In reality, there's much more to it. Here's a look behind the scenes at how a BikeGraz tour comes together.
Step 1: Ride the Route
Every tour is ridden multiple times – at different times of day and in different conditions. Is the route safe? Is it enjoyable? Are there sections unsuitable for cyclists? Where are the best photo spots?
Step 2: Research the Stories
What sets a BikeGraz tour apart? The stories. We don't just explain what a building is – we tell you what's behind it. Why does the Clock Tower have the wrong minute hand? What does the Murinsel really have to do with 2003's Capital of Culture? We research the most interesting background, surprising details and local stories you won't find in any guidebook.
Step 3: Test GPS and Navigation
The route must be foolproof. Clear turn instructions, accurate GPS points, well-placed stop markers. We test every tour on multiple devices and browsers.
Step 4: Gather Feedback
Before a tour officially launches, real users test it. If you've tried the beta tour, we'd love your feedback – directly by email or via the comment function.
What's Next
The "Top 10 Graz" tour launches on 1 July. More tours will follow: different districts, different themes, different difficulty levels. Which tour would you like to see?
