Spring gets your gravel-loving heart racing: the Gravel Grinders invite you along!
So, have you spotted the first delicate early bloomers by the roadside yet? The crocuses are sprouting, the birds are chirping, and the air finally smells of adventure again – perfect for a proper ride on two wheels! And that’s exactly where the lads and lasses from the Gravel Grinders Graz come in.
Saturday, 18 April 2026 is the day: the Gravel Grinders are hosting their traditional early-bloomer ride. This is your chance to explore Graz and its green surroundings off the tarmac and watch nature awaken from its winter slumber. Just imagine: you’re rolling leisurely along gravel paths, the sun warming your face, and the first splashes of spring colour flashing by on either side. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?
The ride starts at 10:00 am sharp at Lemur Bike, Elisabethinergasse 22, 8020 Graz. A great meeting point to have a quick chat beforehand or perhaps check your tyre pressure. From there, we’ll head out of the city together, likely on paths that will take us away from the hustle and bustle of the main square and perhaps along the Mur to lesser-known trails.
What do you need? Your gravel bike is ideal, of course, but a mountain bike with tyres that aren’t too knobbly should also do the trick. The important thing is that you feel comfortable on unpaved terrain. Remember to bring plenty of water, a small snack for the ride and, of course, a good mood! It’s not about speed, but about sharing the experience and enjoying spring on two wheels.
