Free Cycling Courses for Primary Schools: BMK Makes It Possible
If you're wondering how the next generation of Graz cyclists will safely navigate traffic, I have good news for you. The Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology – or BMK for short, so you don't have to remember the tongue twister – is funding the 'klimaaktiv mobil cycling courses' at primary and secondary schools. The best part: The courses for primary schools here in Graz and the surrounding area are completely free.
That's quite a statement, isn't it? This way, kids learn from a young age how to stay in the saddle and navigate the city safely, before a tram at the main square shows them who has the right of way. These 'klimaaktiv mobil' courses are a great thing, so our little ones not only get fit but also develop a sense of sustainable mobility right away.
Perhaps it's the perfect occasion to pull your own bike out of the basement and take a ride through the Augarten. You never know when you can learn something new yourself. #bikegraz. Follow us on Instagram and Bluesky for more cycling news from Graz!
