Have you ever had the feeling that someone is watching you when you're out riding your bike? Don't worry, it's not a stalker, but perhaps one of the bike counting stations that diligently measures traffic frequency in Graz. On five bike paths in our city, they are keeping a close eye on how many of us are actually pedaling.
These counters are particularly active, for example, on Körösistraße, in Augarten, and at Stadtpark. They record how often you and your fellow cyclists zoom by. Sometimes you wonder if the counters even notice when you take a detour just to avoid the headwind. Although the source doesn't reveal what exactly happens with the collected data or why these five routes were chosen, it's interesting to know that someone is counting our paths.
So, the next time you're on one of these paths – whether it's on Körösistraße, in Augarten, or at Stadtpark – give a shout out to the counting station from us! Maybe it's a good reason to take a spin and see for yourself how much traffic there really is. #bikegraz
