Who says that good ideas always have to come from the state capital? In Gratwein-Straßengel, two local council members show us how to manage everyday life quite easily without a car – and with plenty of electric support.
Martina Auer, for example, has been pedaling her E-Bike for twelve years. Many of us were still contemplating whether the E-Bike is just for the really lazy. And that's not all: she even does her shopping quite relaxed with the cargo bike. That leaves the trunk of the car empty. Her colleague, infrastructure chairman Florian Ulm, also relies on the E-Bike to commute daily from home. Now that's a clear statement for cycling mobility, isn't it? Sure, there are always a few hurdles, but when even local council members pave the way, it's a good sign for everyone considering leaving the car behind more often.
