The End of an Era: CityRadeln and Tour de Graz Discontinued – What Now for Group Rides in Graz?
Dear cycling friends of BIKEGRAZ,
It was an era full of pedal power, shared kilometers, and unforgettable encounters: unfortunately, the popular event series CityRadeln and Tour de Graz are being discontinued. For many of us, it’s a little sting to the heart – after all, these events were for years the perfect vehicle to explore Graz together on two wheels, make friendships, and simply enjoy being active.
Although this is naturally a pity – let’s congratulate everyone who has been involved with heart and muscle power over the past years and made these events a great experience!
What Now? Ideas for Group Cycling Activities in Graz
If you think Graz will be dull without group cycling, think again. Many alternatives are already eagerly waiting for you and your fellow cycling enthusiasts:
- BIKEGRAZ Community Rides: Organize or join open rides within our community. Whether leisurely after-work spins, fixie cruises, or moderate training rides – the main thing is to be out and about together!
- Culinary Bike Tours: Graz boasts numerous cafés, organic farmers’ markets, and specialty shops you can reach by bike. How about a tour for your taste buds? Tip: Just let those calories fall off again on the way back.
- Discover Green Graz by Pedal Power: Besides classic bike paths, numerous parks and green spaces like Augarten, Stadtpark, or the Murinsel recreation area invite you for relaxed circuits.
- Cycling for a Good Cause: Initiatives like “Cycling for a Better Climate” or charity rides are easy to start yourselves – have fun together while making a positive impact.
