It just happened, the city center of Graz once again turned into a giant cycling arena with the Altstadtkriterium 2025.
The course? Nothing short of spectacular: past the Opera House, across Tummelplatz, the dreaded cobblestones climbing Bürgergasse, and finally through the historic Burgtor gate to the finish line in the Erzherzog-Johann-Allee. Spectators were lining the streets, cheering every lap and every attack.
The women’s race delivered pure excitement – fast, tactical, and thrilling to watch. The winner was Lydia Ventker from the Graz-based team Cookina – congratulations on the long solo ride and the resulting victory.
The men’s race was explosive from the start. Attacks, breakaways, relentless pace – and just when things seemed decided, heavy rain poured down, turning the cobblestones into a slippery challenge. Bike handling skills and bravery became the keys to survival. In the end, Loic Bettendorf claimed the win – congratulations on a truly deserved triumph!
Once again, Graz showed that cycling here is not just about tradition, but about passion, atmosphere, and unforgettable moments.
