Beware the Aerial Attacks! π°π΄ββοΈ
Itβs that time of year again: autumn is coming, the leaves are falling β and so are their tougher buddies, the chestnuts.
While youβre cruising along Grazβs bike paths, thereβs always a chance that a βflying projectileβ drops from above and aims straight for your helmet.
Just yesterday, it almost happened to me in Augarten β a chestnut came flying down and missed me by a hair. A few centimeters to the right and Iβd be proudly wearing its mark on my forehead today. Graz isnβt just Austriaβs cycling capital β apparently, itβs also hosting the unofficialΒ Chestnut World Championships in Precision Drop.
Our advice: wear a helmet, duck if needed β and just laugh it off if you hear that satisfying βPLOP.β After all, itβs part of the true autumn cycling vibe, right up there with morning fog and that first patch of ice on chilly mornings.
So: keep your eyes open, head up (but not too high π), and enjoy your autumn rides through Graz!
π Share your best autumn cycling photo on Insta or Bluesky with the hashtagΒ #BikeGrazΒ β bonus points if it includes a chestnut as a βtrophy.β
