25 years of Cityskating Graz: Rolling fun in our city!
So, who’s dusted off their roller skates or inline skates yet? This year, Cityskating Graz is celebrating its incredible 25th anniversary, and that really is a reason to celebrate – or rather: to roll! Congratulations on a quarter of a century full of exercise, fun and community on the streets of Graz. It’s amazing how time flies when you’re out and about on wheels!
Just imagine: the city is yours for a while! Every month, Graz transforms into a giant skating rink. Whether on inline skates, roller skates or sometimes even on a scooter – there’s a brilliant atmosphere when the crowd winds its way through the streets. Music booms, people laugh, and the city shows itself at its best when it’s taken over by the rolling participants. It’s just great fun to see the people of Graz reclaiming the streets on their little wheels. From Hauptplatz via Grieskai to Mariahilferplatz – that’s when you really get that city vibe.
We cyclists know the feeling all too well, too, when you’re out and about with a group and experience the city in a different way. I sometimes think back a bit wistfully to our Cityradeln, which we sadly no longer have. But hey, small wheels are wheels too, aren’t they? Whether two, four or even more wheels – the main thing is that it moves and brings joy! And that’s exactly what makes Cityskating Graz so special: it brings people together, lets them discover the city together and puts a smile on their faces. It’s a celebration of urban mobility that shows just how much fun it is to get out and about.
