1000er Schöckl: Upper trail closed due to downhill race
On 2 May 2026, the upper section of the 1000er Trail on the Schöckl will be closed to the general public. This is due to the Auner Austrian Gravity Series downhill race. Only race participants will have access to this section on that day.
For all other cyclists, this means focusing on the remaining trails. These will be open, but you should be prepared for potential waiting times at the cable car. A downhill race always attracts spectators and participants, which affects operations at the top of the mountain accordingly.
So plan your trip to the Schöckl accordingly if you’re heading out on 2 May. There are alternatives, but the logistics with the cable car might require a bit more patience than usual.
