App revolution from Kainbach near Graz?
Well, who doesn’t know it? You invest in a fancy smart bike, look forward to virtual rides, and then the sobering reality hits: expensive subscriptions and apps that feel like they were still programmed with a steam engine. Christoph Batek from Kainbach near Graz recognized exactly this problem and thought: it can be done differently!
The tech-savvy engineer, who by the way runs the engineering firm cb-ViaConsult, was pretty annoyed after buying his own smart bike by the cumbersome applications, especially when it came to gear control. He promptly sat down and developed his own app that aims to iron out exactly these pitfalls of digital cycling. And here’s the kicker: Christoph is looking for local test pilots! So if you’re from Graz or the surrounding area and would like your smart bike thoroughly tested without having to pedal up the Schlossberg, then you’re exactly right.
Speaking of group rides and meeting new people: if you don’t just want to test apps but also want to ride with other cyclists again, check out RideAlong. There you’ll surely find the next cool tour or can offer one yourself. Maybe this is the starting shot for the next big bike innovation from Styria — we’re curious what Christoph is tinkering up for us!
